PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT


1.1  Teaching Methods Used by The Teacher
Based on the observation during the 1st week, the teacher mostly used the lecture method and discussion method. Lecture method is an oral presentation of information by the instructor. It is the method of relaying factual information which includes principles, concepts, ideas and all theoretical knowledge about the given topic. While the discussion method is a method where group discussion techniques are used to reach the learning objectives. Discussion method is used to stimulate thinking, interest and securing the student participation. It will make the students in the classroom to be more active and cooperative during the group activity. The discussion method can also increase students’ interest, acceptance, and commitments during the learning process.
During observation, most of the learning processes in the class emphasized the students to be an active learner. The role of the teacher is only as the facilitator who will help and guide the student during the learning process. The learning process can be improvised into playing games. By playing games, the students can study and play at the same time, which make learning becomes enjoyable. Evaluation is important to make sure the understanding of the students.

1.2  Learning Materials and Innovation Used by The Teacher
During observation, the teacher used learning materials which are including textbooks, PowerPoint presentations, short videos, pictures, instructional media, and white/blackboard. The teacher also used various ways to get the students attention, such as by giving motivation at the start of the lesson and making the lesson enjoyable so the students can actively participate in the class during the lesson.

1.3  Sources of Learning and Teaching Used by The Teacher
            Most of the time, the teacher uses a laptop with a projector or television to show the PowerPoint presentation. It is used for delivering the learning materials to the student. The teacher can also include pictures,  short video, songs, and daily activities to improve their understanding and insight. Some teachers even combine electronic media and conventional media. Sources of teaching come from books and the internet.

1.4  Authentic Assessment Used by The Teacher
The teacher gave the assessment by giving group work or individual task. Sometimes, the teacher also included the students’ participation when the teacher is still explaining the lesson or asking questions during the group activity. The teacher would give an additional point to the student who is active in class, or cooperative in the group activity. Lastly, there would be a long quiz at the end of the lesson.
